Age of Conan has big plans for the future - Image 1A growing game like Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures deserves big plans for its future. To that end, Funcom and Eidos have rolled out an announcement that outlines the steps they’ll be taking to make Age of Conan stand out.

Here’s an outline of what they have planned:

To The Death – A PvP update planned for late June where the game will get a PvP leveling system with additional ranks for gear and weapons. Furthermore, a Fugitive system will be introduced, whereby you are made easier to find (and kill) the more lower-leveled characters you kill in the game world.

Kingship – An upcoming free update that allows for guild alliances to be made so that the said alliances can fight one another for culture-specific “wonders of the world.” Creation and maintenance of battlekeeps will also be made available.

Powerpoints – Imagine an MMO achievements system where you can use the achievements you’ve earned to buy new weapons and armor. That’s exactly what this planned update is all about. You will get powerpoints for everything, from in-game behavior, to simply subscribing to the game. The press release also teases that “Powerpoints may even allow you to level faster!”

New Areas and Dungeons – What can we say? You’re getting new areas and dungeons, and they aren’t even part of an expansion pack. As their press release states, “This includes a brand new dungeon in Aquilonia, reshaping three dungeons in Stygia, and an entire mountain range in Cimmeria!”

Social Updates and New Quests – To put it simply, they’re bringing combo-based dancing into the game, even going as far as hiring professional dancers for motion capture, it seems. They’re also adding 60 new quests, complete with full voice acting.

New quests, improved PvP, and DANCING? Heck, we’re in the mood for dancing! Sounds like Age of Conan will certainly be making itself more followers in the coming months.
