Future games from Hideo Kojima, Toshihiro Nagoshi

In the latest issue of the Japanese magazine, they ran a discussion between Hideo Kojima of the Metal Gear series and Toshihiro Nagoshi of Yakuza fame. When Nagoshi asked what Kojima was currently working on, he mentioned the following, this according to IGN’s translations:

  • that he’s working on three or four games (which is surprising because last we heard, he was working on just two)
  • one of the three or four games is one which he’s designing himself and that it could be “released quickly,” meaning, probably some time this year
  • speaking of which, he also expects 2009 to be an important year for them (something he already said just previously)
  • one of the currently-in-production titles won’t be released outside of Japan

Again, we have to make it clear that there might have been some stuff either lost or misconstrued in the process of IGN’s translation. That and quite simply, Kojima-san was speaking rather vaguely to begin with.

On the flipside, when Kojima asked the same question to Nagoshi, the Yakuza creator revealed that aside from Yakuza 3 which will be released in Japan this February, he also has an unannounced title which is yet to be revealed some time this year.
