Future Shin Megami Tensei Games for Wii as well as PS3?
Luv2Game, the official website for Hardcore Gamer Magazine, interviewed Kazuma Kaneko, the lead designer and artist for Atlus‘ Shin Megami Tensei video game series. When asked what systems the next MegaTen game would be on, Kaneko said that he’d really like to make a MegaTen game for the Wii.
He also divulged how would a Wii MegaTen game be like. According to him, “Well, if you play Nocturne or Digital Devil Saga, they’re typical modern RPGs. You see your characters act from a third-person view. But as you and your readers probably know, the original MegaTen games used a completely different first-person viewpoint. I would love to go back to basics with MegaTen on the Wii and bring back the first-person perspective, while using the controller to let players experience their environments directly.“
Awesome news! MegaTen has gained a very loyal following and we’re sure that this news will perk up their ears. Since Nintendo is much more relaxed about censorship, this wouldn’t be hard to localize like it would have been ten years ago. It’s a series that filled with content that people like Jack Thompson would be just itching to use as a way of getting more attention. It’s not your average JRPG. So MegaTen fans, just stay tuned here at QJ for your daily dose of game updates.
