GALPSP: Courtroom Drama err.. Lua
Homebrewed by Karurosu and inspired by the NDS game, Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney, GALPSP 0.200b1 – Courtroom Edition, gives us a courtroom drama in Lua like no other.
It revolves around mr. pokeparadox (not his real name but would like to be referred to as that). he’s just your regular kind of guy, that sneaked inside a software company to see the developments on a new game and is now being charged for murder. Represented by slick attorney, Mr. Von Krank, will he be able to prove Mr. Poke’s innocence from sharp prosecutors’ (played by the gamer) Ms. Aiko and Mr. Reight?
The game’s introduction, which I thought was a wee bit long than necessary, has it’s good and bad points. The good, is that it heightened your anticipation for what’s going to happen next and explained the game’s premise in detail. The bad, is that if the player has the I-want-my-game-now attitude, this might make him want to just give up on the game.
Also it would have been much better if there’s an option on how to make Mr. Reight repeat his instructions to Ms. Aiko on how to play the game because if you have a short memory you’ll get frustrated playing it. But, the gameplay isn’t that complicated so after a few tries you’ll figure it out.
Known issues of beta 1:
have needed a complete debug cycle) but it will be fixed in final.
the main reason are that it would require too much time. laso, it is planned to be added to v0.3
Overall, I found this game enjoyable and challenging at the same time. I think it will appeal not only to guys but to gals as well because of the presence of a storyline rather than being a run and gun type. The game is rather good considering it’s only in its first version. Makes we wonder what it has in store in the its future releases. And the plot thickens.
