This is it, Game of the Year. No quantifiers, no excuses. Our team looks at the year gone by and decides which games they feel stood head and shoulders above the rest. Considering ’08 has been a banner year for gaming, it wasn’t easy.

Game of the Year: Grand Theft Auto IV

Comments: When you look at it macroscopically, whether you enjoyed playing the game or not (let’s not have personal preferences get in the way, shall we?), you can’t deny the fact that Rockstar Games *did* manage to raise the bar in video game design with GTA4.

Comments: With controversy erupting at its release, its main character showing up all over the place, more costumes than any video game character – new ones every week, and gameplay unlike anything we’ve seen before, LittleBigPlanet is THE game of the year..

Comments: Surprise! My  PS3 and 360 game of the year is also my overall game of the year! Fallout 3 is not just my game of the year, it’s my “Game of the Generation… so far”.
