“Gamejew” gets first dibs on the Wii at L.A. launch
And Jonathan Mann will go down in Ninty history as the answer to the trivia question – “Who was the first guy to score a Wii in the L.A. launch?”. Yup, Jonathan Mann, aka GameJew, waited in line from Friday morning (10 a.m to be exact) up to 12 a.m Sunday morning, to get his hands on Nintendo’s next-gen bet. And the guy definitely came in style as he donned a Mario costume while waiting for the console to be officially launched.
And since he had a lot of time to kill, he amused himself by playing his guitar and singing songs about the Wii. As the clock ticked 12 a.m., he went on to the Gamestop store and was welcomed by Nintendo’s Senior V.P. and Beatles lead guitarist’s namesake, George Harrison. The guy basked in his 15 minutes of fame and then happily went home to try his hands on Wii Sports. For someone who waited that long in the queue to get a Wii, we think he deserves some credit.
