Gamer gets busted for illegal WiFi access
A man from Palmer, Alaska is current waiting for word of any convictions of criminal wrongdoing. His crime: using a public library’s free Wifi internet for online gaming after hours.
A patrolling police officer caught, Brian Tanner, 21, in the parking lot of the library, using the connection to play online games. His laptop was confiscated after the incident, though there’s no word as to whether he’ll be charged with anything as a result.
Tanner had previously been chased out of other establishments for, as the report says, “latching on to” their wireless services. Whether or not this will keep him from doing so again is yet to be seen.
