Gamertag is Zunetag? Zune in Xbox Live?

Over at Generation Zune, somebody posted a screenshot of the HTML page source the Zune website. The cool thing here is that it hints at how your Xbox Live Gamertag is also your “Zunetag”. The Java script is located after the last links of the page (“Privacy Statement | Legal | Safety”):

<SCRIPT TYPE=”text/javascript”>
var ProductionDomains=”live.zune.net,forums.zune.net,www.zune.net,gamercard.zune.net“;
var gDomain=”m.webtrends.com”;
var gTrackEvents=0;
var gFpcDom=”.zune.net”;

</SCRIPT>

We can already see the future (the future started with the presence of Zune support in the recent Xbox Live update). The Zune is a device that lets you subscribe and download music from the Zune Marketplace. So Microsoft will merge the Zune Marketplace and the Xbox Live Marketplace (we’re already downloading trailers and videos on Xbox Live, right?). And then, paying for Xbox Live Gold or getting an Xbox Live Diamond Card will also get you Zune Marketplace perks (at least we get more value for our subscription fees).

After all, why not integrate the Zune and the Xboxes? If the cool thing now is interconnectivity between gadgets…

Agree? Absolutely disgusted? Don’t care? That’s what comments are for. (By the way, thanks to Godfree of Gamertag Radio for the heads up!)
