gamesgames, the magazine that has earned a reputation for telling it like it is, is cranking out its 50th issue. And with style! The milestone edition sports a a rainbow effect foil cover featuring Nintendo’s Wii. It is a statement of the magazine’s intention to cover the next-gen era of gaming with the same unbiased point-of-view untainted by PR, gimmicks, fads and hype.

Imagine Publishing launched games magazine to fill the gap in the market for a “mature multiformat videogame magazine that would reflect the needs of modern gamers,” says current editor-in-chief Simon Phillips.

But it did more than survive. Since its launch in November 2002, games magazine not only won two MCV awards but the respect of the video gaming industry for its honest opinion.

“Reaching such a milestone is an incredible achievement and indicative of the popularity of the magazine… but 2007 is shaping up to be a phenomenal year for videogames and consumers alike, and games plans to remain at the cutting edge for a very long time to come.”
