GameShareDumper For DH FW2.71/2.82 v0.01: the tutorial

He’s definitely got some beta testers or something out there to help him with making a new app called the GameShareDumper because there isn’t an actual public download yet. Since it seems to be meant for Devhook FW 2.71 and 2.82, it should be a rather accessible game sharing device for people who feel up to messing with downloadable demos.

In the meantime, we might as well learn how to use this is app, and that’s where we come in. Here’s some of the important parts of 0okm’s tutorial for GameShareDumper v0.01 testers, which you can now keep for future reference. Feel free to check his blog for more information though, as he’ll probably shed some more light on this new project soon and how it can relate to GameShareLoader v0.2.

Dumping GameShares in Devhook FW 2.82:

• Copy “LEPatch.prx” to “ms0:dhkdedit ms0:dh2f0kdpspbtcnf_dh.txt”
• Add line “/kd/LEPatch.prx” before “$%%/vsh/module/vshmain.prx”

Dumping GameShares in Devhook FW 2.82:

• Copy “LEPatch.prx” to “ms0:dhkdedit ms0:dh2f0kdpspbtcnf_dh.txt”
• Add line “/kd/LEPatch.prx” before “$%%/vsh/module/vshmain.prx”

• Start up HenD and open Devhook 0.51 Beta for 2.71.

• Once you’ve got Devhook ready, emulate Firmware 2.82.

• When that’s done, ready GameSharing and begin your download.

• When the download is complete, the file will be automatically dumped into MS_ROOT. Note that you Devhook won’t let you play the GameShare file.

 

To do this on Devhook FW 2.71:

Some slight differences here, mostly in what files you have to rename or open up. You can do it!

• Copy “LEPatch.prx” to “ms0:dhkdedit ms0:dh1Fflash0kdpspbtcnf.txt”
• Add line “ms0:/dh/kd/LEPatch.prx” before “$%%/vsh/module/vshmain.prx”

• After completing that, you should activate HenD. However, run Devhook 0.4X Launcher for 2.71 instead of 0.51, and then emulate Fimware 2.71 F. Follow the same steps right after, and you should get your GameShare into the MS_ROOT folder.

0okm mentions some notes you ought to remember while doing this. First, to repeat the process, just follow the steps you took again. Second, the GameShare Dumps have two files you shouldn’t be surprised to see: “kmem0xx.bin” and “umem0xx.bin”. They should have a 32 MB size total.
