GameStop: Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 for the PSP?

Talk abut jumping the gun. Only late last month, Ubisoft announced that they were working on Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 for a 1Q 2007 release. Now, they didn’t mention any platforms the game, in any form, iteration, version, or modification, would appear. Then, according to Gamespot, this popped up in GameStop (of which we took a screencap of):

On the one hand, as Gamespot notes very very accurately:

While retailer listings frequently jump the gun on publishers’ product announcements, they should not be taken as final confirmation of a game’s existence, nor should the absence of a listing be considered as proof that a game isn’t coming to a given platform.

And fair enough. Caveat emptor. Buyer beware of any premature pre-orders. On the other hand, I’d be stoked if the next GRAW in any form, iteration, version, or modification, would appear on the PSP. And besides, if Ubisoft can bring Ghost cousins Rainbow Six: Vegas to the PSP…Viva Las Vegas!

Like I said, I’d be stoked. Maybe when GameStop posts the packshot I’ll start believing (And if this rumor turns out to be false? You’ll hear me muttering in the Comments, “Stupid g*****n premature pre-order announcements).
