Gamestrata on PS3 achievements, user incentives and more

What GameStrata stats look like - Image 1If the Xbox 360 has achievements, then why not clone them for the PS3? That’s one of several things on the minds of the people behind Gamestrata, the free online stat tracker service. But that’s not the only thing that Gamestrata has brewing, though. More on Gamestrata’s plans worth after the jump.

A free online tracker service named GameStrata - Image 1

Not familiar with GameStrata? For the uninitiated, it’s basically a free online service that allows you to track your progress during online gaming sessions. By progress, we mean a whole lot of detailed information – like the number of shots you fire per match or the total amount of damage you deal to your opponents, among other things.

Currently partnered companies include Capcom, Electronic Arts and Sega. The registration makes use of a token system, meaning that you can only really get in if someone sends you an invite.

The good news is that the nice things may not just stop there. The people behind GameStrata have other plans in mind for the users of their free service. Among them:

  • Achievements – How does the option of building achievements into either the PS3 or Xbox 360 sound to you? Yup, we thought so.
  • Console Support – Get your game stats in real-time as you’re playing the game.
  • Clan Integration – Compare and contrast stats between groups of players. You can have match ups based on such things as accuracy, number of headshots, etc.
  • User Incentives – If GameStrata can work things out with third parties, you may get the chance to stock up on points and exchange them for third party stuff, such as PSN savings.

At this point, may we politely remind our readers that these are, for the moment, precisely just  that: plans. Nevertheless, it would be good to wait and see exactly what and how the GameStrata people actually develop the potential of the technology at their disposal.
