Garry’s MOD heads to Steam on November 29

Gordon Frohman from Concerned, made through Garry's MODFor fans of the Half-Life series, one of the things that extended the shelf life of the game was a nice little application known as Garry’s MOD. With it, you could basically post characters and do just about anything inside the game world that you saw fit.

Users of Garry’s MOD will be pleased to know that the program is finally getting a new, rebuilt version. The latest version of Garry’s MOD is now going to be distributed through Valve’s Steam distribution engine, and while it won’t be free, it will have a lot of new features to make die-hard users consider grabbing a copy of the new version.

Garry Newman, creator of the modification, find himself both pleased with the arrangement and liking how the setup offers more freedom for creating new tweaks for it.  Newman notes, “It has a bunch of new tools to play with (winches, hydraulics and hoverballs), totally new spawn menu and a few new Post Processing effects to play with. The great thing about Steam is that I can update really regularly, really easily – which is something I plan on doing – so expect more tools/gamemodes/stuff to come.”

Garry’s MOD will be seeing online distribution on November 29 for US$ 9.95. Those without the necessary programs, such as Counter-Strike: Source, will also be able to grab a bundled set that includes both Garry’s MOD and CS: Source for US$ 29.95. Enjoy!
