Gates to Sony: We’ve been there before

GatesMicrosoft‘s Corporation’s campaign for this year’s CES was headed by no less than Mr. Big Shot Bill Gates himself. He was the one who made public their company’s latest innovations as well as the directions their planning to take in the next few years. And as far as Gates is concerned, Microsoft has already won the console war.

This bold statement came in after the official announcement that 10.4 million Xbox 360 units had already been sold worldwide. Aside from the number-laden speech Gates made, he also declared that, “It’s a complete reversal of last time. Last time, we tried coming in a year late with a big, clunky box that cost more and having less titles. We tried that and it’s not that much fun.”

Probably one of the biggest bombs Microsoft dropped at the show is IPTV. The device allows for users to watch/download TV programs as well as videos, not to mention chatting and playing games all at the same time.

Gates noted that the public should take advantage of this innovation. “People are underestimating the importance of the announcement that the video game is the set-top box and the set-top box is the video game. There’s the living room device that does it all,” Gates explained.
