GDC 08: latest Indiana Jones game now in production
Lego Indiana Jones won’t include the latest Indy movie in its game plot, but perhaps we’ll see different in LucasArts’ new Indiana Jones game. The studio has announced that the game is now in production, but unfortunately won’t be coming out this year. Check out the full article for more details.
During the 2008 Game Developer’s Conference, LucasArts has confirmed that the latest Indiana Jones game is now in production, explaining that it was sidetracked because of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (it’s that awesome).
Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures won’t be making references to the new Indy movie but maybe this new game will be different. Not much details yet though, since LucasArts is remaining mum on the subject.
What they did reveal is that Indiana Jones will be making use of NaturalMotion’s “euphoria” technology as Force Unleashed does. Also, the game’s sequences will not be be re-rendered but rather will “occur in tune with what the action is telling the game engine.”
As for what platforms the game will be released in, we’re hoping it’ll make it on each and every one of them like Lego Indiana Jones, which will be released on the consoles, handhelds, and even the PC. Unfortunately we won’t see the game hit the market until next year.
