We all knew that PlayStation Home was an ambitious project. But how ambitious? At GDC, PS Home director Jack Buser says that they’re planning to launch at least “three new spaces […] a month.” Sounds like critics who say there’s nothing to do in Home have to shut up now.
OMG, a giant virtual non-portable Portable PlayStation!
We all knew that PlayStation Home was an ambitious project. But how ambitious? At GDC, PS Home director Jack Buser says that they’re planning to launch at least three spaces a month.
You’ll see about three new spaces launched a month – I’ll be shocked if we ever go under that number, we have so much in the pipeline.
Sounds like critics who say there’s nothing to do in Home have to shut up now. Buser also expressed how Home is a great opportunity for virtual friends to get to know each other without actually relying on games to do so (just don’t go invoking pedobear):
We noticed at Sony a problem with the friends list [that consists of friends you meet online] – you don’t really know them. We wanted a place, a neutral environment, where players could go and really get to know each other outside of the context of a particular game.
