Gears of War – VGA Issue Fixed
Many of you Gears of War (GoW) fans may have issued VGA display issues on your non-widescreen monitor/TV, well now Mark Rein has stopped by the Epic boards and announced that this issue has been fixed and will be available in the next update. This issue was first reported on the forums on the first day of release, and on the same day Mark Rein stated they would look into the issue. After obtaining a non-widescreen monitor in their offices, the problem was obviously present and has been fixed.
The update will not be available immediately as stated by Mark Rein as they will put this into the upcoming overall-update which will also contain “a few other things”. What’s interesting about this entire situation is the fact that this “squished” effect on non-widescreen models passed the testing of Microsoft as well (or lack of testing). Future information about the update would be posted on the Epic boards, and we will report on the situation as it unfolds.
