Geeky fun: IUAV’s Homebrew Wii Workshop
Given the resources, creativity, and determination, it seems like trying to create your own original Wii game is actually quite possible. Well, at least for these guys, they make it look easy (not to mention fun, too). The Faculty of Design and Arts in IUAV University of Venice has recently finished their Wii Homebrew Workshop a couple of weeks ago, and here’s a video to show you the long and short of what basically happened:
They worked on trying to come up with their own Wiimotes and Nunchuks, and experimented on a lot of electronics. On the software side, they were able to come up with their own mini-games (one of which looks like a beer-bottle-tipping game, and another one like baseball). Basically, it was one whole week of video game design, mixed in with the Wii factor of motion-sensing and player-to-video-game interaction.
