Geometry Wars has opened a new category in gaming with its blend of classic and innovative gameplay. The addition of this title to Steam’s growing catalog of casual and arcade-style games is a milestone in our efforts to expand the content and services offered to gamers around the world.

So what does he mean by a blend of classic and innovative? The game’s objective is very old-school: survive and score as many points as you can. The gameplay follows suit and has been called a mix of Robotron: 2084, Asteroids, and Tempest. However, unlike classic games where shooting hordes of enemies just nets you lives, you can actually earn more weapons and power-ups as you advance.

This multi-platform arcade shooter will initially be offered at an introductory price of US$ 2.50 as compared to its actual price of US$ 3.95 when the promo expires.
