Get your Phantasy till October 21

Oh snaps! An enemy!

Daft Punk said it best, when they wrote, “Work it harder, make it better, do it faster, makes us stronger.” They weren’t talking about the Phantasy Star Universe beta testing phase for the Xbox 360 version of the game, but they might as well have been.

A rather helpful post on the English language PSU forums mentions that the open beta period for the game in Japan has been extended until October 21, 3:59 p.m. Japan time. However, because Japan, Europe and America share the same server, it can also mean that there’s a pretty good chance at beta play until a few hours after midnight of October 21 in America.

Definitely good news for people who love playing the beta. Unfortunately, we must mix this good news with the bad. HKppl (the forum poster) also says that characters from beta will not be transferred to the release version, at least according to Sega‘s Japanese site. Anything uber you’ve picked up in the past week or so will have to be earned again as you will have to play from scratch when they finally release the game.

On the bright side, beta players will have an edge up on newcomers since they know where to go to speed up their leveling. ‘Til the final moments of this beta Phantasy, work harder, kill faster, level up better and make yourselves stronger. Good luck, gamers.
