Ghost Squad gets a USK 18 rating in Germany
The German game rating body USK has spoken and Sega‘s Ghost Squad for the Nintendo Wii has been categorized as a USK 18 game because of its violent content. No comments from Sega have been reported so far.
The USK 18 rating means that Ghost Squad cannot be sold to minors, but can still be retailed in stores. A USK 18 game contains “brutal, moderately bloody violence, and they may glamorize war or violation of human rights,” according to the German board.
Ghost Squad was originally a light gun arcade title which has been ported to the Nintendo Wii platform. It pits you as an elite Special Forces operative tasked with anti-terrorism missions across the world. The video game makes use of the Wiimote‘s similarities with the light gun to make for an almost exact arcade to console transition.
