Go on a killing spree with The Ship’s free game trial
This may be the first time that some of you guys will hear about Outerlight‘s FPS computer game, The Ship. So as not to overwhelm you guys with the announcement of the game’s free trial, we’ll give you a brief primer on the game first.
Let’s see…the easiest way to picture the game is The Sims-gone-sinister and set on a 1920’s cruise ship. The setting’s all fancy (with a British accent please, *fon-sei*), but the killing strategies you’d have to employ are by no means high-class. Heck, you can even use crowbars and hammers to kill your quarries! But before we delve into that, let’s talk about the game’s storyline first.
So basically, a mysterious Mr. X gave away free tickets for his luxury cruise to several people, but little do these passengers know, they’re about to become quasi-twisted lab rats for Mr. X’s experiment-cum-trap. Once they get on board, they’re required to murder a fellow passenger that Mr.X will assign to them. If they don’t, Mr. X will kill the passenger and her/his family.
However, if you’re a good passenger (in Mr. X’s terms — a murderer) and do what Mr. X says, you’ll be rewarded with money, and the amount depends on the difficulty of the weapon you used for murder. Usable weapons are scattered all over the ship; you can use flare guns, fire axes, knives, swords, guns, and you can even lock ’em up in a sauna and burn your fellow passenger to death!
So see, the game will also let you go artsy fartsy with your method of killing, with the variety of weapons and strategies for murder that you can employ. And what’s great is that you can now go on a killing spree with The Ship‘s free game trial that will set sail on November 2nd at 1 pm PDT and will end on Sunday, November 5 at the same time.
Powered by Source Engine and with a multiplayer mode on board, the sinister killing possibilities are endless! So make sure you don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to go on a killing spree aboard a 1920’s cruise ship. If you’re still unconvinced, check out the screenshots below to have a quick-see of the game, or better yet, watch the trailer! This writer assures you, you’ll find yourself smiling at the twistedness of it all, and with classic 20’s music playing in the background! Hahaha!
