Gods And Heroes: Design An Emote, Win Prizes
So…you’re not an animator and know little (if anything) about programming, but there are some animations you’d really like to see in your game? Here’s a great opportunity – the Gods And Heroes: Rome Rising Emote Contest!
So…what would you like to see your character do? Jump with joy*? Raise hands to the heavens? Do the Robot? Maybe just Flex biceps like the buff gladiator in the image? Write up a detailed description of the emote and submit it to the “Design an Emote Animation Contest” thread at the GAH:RR Forum no later than next Wednesday, 2 August at 11:59 PM Pacific Time (that’s 07:59 GMT on 4 August).
The folks at Perpetual Entertainment will narrow the entries down to 25, and the GAH:RR community will vote on their ten favorites. The winning emotes will be animated and added to the game, while the winners will have their emotes and names posted on the official website. They’ll also win GAH:RR T-Shirts and access to the Public Play Test.
Make sure your description is clear. Here’s an example from the GAH:RR Forum
“Faint: Raises hand to head as knees weaken and body loosely tumbles to the ground. Character stays there in that position until you move them directionally”
Although yet to be released – or even beta-tested – GAH:RR has already picked up several gaming awards, including MMORPG.com’s “Best of Show” and “Best Graphics” for E3 2006, Allakhazam’s Best of E3, and Ten Ton Best of Show.
