Godzilla: Unleashed for the Wii monster voting contest

It seems that IGN, in conjunction with Pipeworks Studios, is currently running a contest on what new monster will be included in Godzilla: Unleashed. So far most of the monsters from the previous Godzilla Games have been confirmed as playable characters in the game. They have four choices with a short dossier for each monster. The one slot for the original character is in your hands.

There are the four monsters you can pick from.

Magmouth: This little (well, not so little) beastie is essentially a walking volcano. One of the ideas they are playing around with right now is to have Magmouth to eat rocks and debris to replenish his magma attack after use.

Firelion: This creature, inspired by stone lions seen in ancient Chinese architecture, can appear and disappear like a flickering flame and throw fire from his tail. The designers wanted to play around with the idea of a dragon/lion creature, so this is what came out.

The Visitor: The Vortaak aliens captured this creature from its home planet. They intend on turning it loose on mankind. What’s there to say except it has big teeth and four sharp hook arms protruding from its back. Incidentally, it can also release a psychic shockwave known as a Brainspasm.

Lightning Bug: This giant bug can hover short distances by using its wings. The wings are also used as additional armor to protect it from harm. The Lightning Bug can also absorb the ambient energy in the air for its own use.

All in all, the entire roster looks to be wicked sick. It would be a hard choice to decide which one among these will be included in the video game. Godzilla: Unleashed for the Wii is slated to be released on Q3 in the U.S. Till then you can check out the rest of the shots or you can look at our previous article on the game from Pipeworks Studios and Atari.
