Gold, platinum and creds: The $ exchange rates

DollarsFor MMO gamers out there: If ever by a freak gamma ray accident you find yourselves forever trapped traversing the various MMORPGs like Tsukasa from Hack, here’s something that should help you navigate the various MMORPG exchange rates as compared to the almighty US Dollar, and Monopoly play money.

Ren Reynolds over at TerraNova pulled together his knowledge of MMOs and Monopoly, and got to work making a comparison list of how much each game currency was worth in real dollars, and how it compared to the cash in each Monopoly set distributed by Hasbro.

He figured out the Monopoly-USD exchange rate by counting the amount of play cash contained in each Monopoly set ($15,140) and comparing that value with how much he spent to buy the set. Simple enough. As for the rest of the info, he attributes it to info he’s picked up from surfing the web.

While the figures are down to the decimal, we don’t really recommend that you guys take this list TOO seriously, and start doing transactions based on it. Interesting attempt, though.
