GoldenEye 007 for XBLA footage?

When you hear the phrase “Nintendo 64 classic title“, few games other than Rare’s elite GoldenEye 007 come to mind. It was recently rumored that the FPS was going to see action again in Xbox Live Arcade, but was supposedly scrapped after development was completed. Footage of what’s supposed to be the shelved re-release can be viewed after the jump.

Is GoldenEye 007 for the Xbox Live Arcade simply a rumor that’s too good to die? It looks like it, as we were able to dig up a video of what’s supposedly the port of the Nintendo 64 classic in action, as being run on a 360.

Come to think of it, this may be leaked footage of the supposedly cancelled project. Quartermann did say in the last EGM issue that the game was almost done but was scrapped because Nintendo and Microsoft couldn’t come to terms regarding the money. If all this is true, it’s a shame that this classic title couldn’t see the light of day. Not just yet, at least.
