Gran Turismo HD now just a demo

GT HD

Polyphony digital and Sony changed their minds about Gran Turismo HD. The planned boxed version of the game has gone out the window, instead they are set to release a GT demo on Japan‘s PlayStation Store for a limited time. This development was announced by designer, Kazunori Yamauchi. Call it bad luck, call it the end of the game’s supremacy, heck, call it whatever you want!

Anyhow, the free Gran Turismo HD Concept will be available on December 24. Currently, it would be a Japan-only release, but then again, we can never tell. The demo will have 10 cars and two layouts of a single track. Polyphony now plans on shelling all its resources to the development of Gran Turismo 5 which is set to come out on 2008. We could only hope that they are making the right decision on this one, they badly need a winning break.
