Take-Two Locks In Rockstar With New Agreements - Image 1Rockstar Games, the studio behind the Grand Theft Auto series, have signed in a new long-term contract with publisher Take-Two Interactive.

A lot of publishers have expressed their interest in taking on Rockstar Games after their contract expires this February. Come on, it’s Rockstar Games. What studio wouldn’t be drooling for a chance to sign them on?

For a while there, it was looking like T2 was in danger of losing Rockstar, and with it the Houser brothers Sam and Dan, the creative force behind the Grand Theft Auto series. T2’s little tiff with Electronic Arts didn’t help the situation any. Guess we won’t be seeing any GTA Sims game come out any time soon.

Their new contract with T2 now has Rockstar working another 3 years under their banner, to 2012. Sam Houser says about the new agreement:

The entire Rockstar team has always been dedicated to making groundbreaking games with unprecedented production values, style and depth. We are excited to continue our partnership with the new management team at Take-Two, who have helped us to protect the unique atmosphere that fosters creativity and innovation.
