Greenpeace has released the latest version of its Guide to Greener Electronics, the environmental report card for electronics companies. According to their latest grades, Sony‘s grade improved from last year, and Microsoft‘s gotten worse. Nintendo‘s still dragging at last place, but they don’t seem to care anyway.
According to their report, Sony got a score of 5.5 (over 10) – up two places for having better product energy efficiency reporting. Microsoft ranked a woeful 2.7 because of bad performance on e-waste. Nintendo scored even more dreadfully, with a solid 0.8, mostly due to a severe lack of information on their environmental policies.
No one got a perfect 10, but the top electronics company on the list is Nokia. Apple scored better this time around with a 4.7, thanks to improved recycling.
