GridCast TV allows media providers to stream their video content to your TV, taking advantage of the UPnP tech found in the PlayStation 3. Some of the service’s video-content providers include Revision3, IndieFlix, and Havoc TV.

No pricing has been finalized yet, but word is they’re looking at per-usage rates – probably pay per view or by the minute. While it’s not exactly a substitute for cable, a streaming video service on my console is welcome, though I’ll still probably spend more time on the PlayStation Store than anything.
