GT 5: Prologue net code came in with PS3 firmware 2.17?

According to our source, a certain net code for the PlayStation 3 exclusive Gran Turismo 5: Prologue came with the firmware update version 2.17 when it went live just a couple of days ago. No one knows, unfortunately, what exactly this code is for. Know more and speculate with us after the jump!

As all of you will remember, Sony rolled out firmware 2.17 for the PlayStation 3 just a couple of days ago. Even until now, however, a changelog for English-speaking gamers has yet to be revealed.

That leaves the firmware update to a lot of speculations including this one that concerns PS3 exclusive Gran Turismo 5: Prologue. According to our source, a net code for the said Polyphony Digital racing game came in with the system update.

Unfortunately, no one knows what this code is for or whether an explanation or probably a complimentary code will be included on the game’s disc.

Bottom line is, there’s no available detail as of yet regarding this. GT 5: Prologue will be released across Europe on March 28 while gamers in the U.S. will be able to get it on April 17.
