GTA eboot loader: will the good times end?

GTA:LCSeboot loader on a pspWe have all been enjoying the fact that we can now play most of out favorite homebrew on firmware version 2.60 with the Grand Theft Auto eboot loader, but can that all change?

Sony has been releasing a new update every time somebody has found a way around the current firmware, usually relatively quickly, but why has their not been an update to fix the GTA eboot hack? Is Sony having a little trouble getting around this hack, or do they simply not care? It seems like every time we gain the ability to play ISOs we lose all homebrew for a short time, when 2.0 was cracked via the tiff overload and the down-grader was released it was only a short time until it was patched up. Will sony be releasing a new firmware update to stop the eboot loader exploit for GTA or will they wait for something else to happen. If sony is waiting what are they waiting for? More games to be cracked? A ISO loader? A down-grader? What will trigger sony to release another firmware making us choose official game or homebrew games? And, even if they can’t fix the GTA eboot loader through a conventional firmware update what measures will sony got through to stop a full blown ISO loader on 2.6? Will they re-issue the game? What else can they do? These questions and more in the comments.
