Guild Wars World Championship a success, plans for a second

Arenanet has marked the first ever Guild Wars Championship a success. The victorious Guild “The Last Pride” has walked away with a cool $ 100,000 in cash and prizes and the knowledge that they are the best of the best. In fact, Arenanet was so pleased with the tournament, that they have alreday announced plans to host a second Guild Wars World Championship. March 7th has been christened the opening day of the world tournament season for Guild Wars Factions.

The Guild Wars Factions Championship (GWFC) will have 3 seasons of combat, each consisting of four weeks of hardcore guild versus guild action that will apex with the season concluding tournament of the top 16 guilds. Each of the top 16 guilds will win GWFC poins and some in and out of game prizes. What good are GWFC points you ask? Well, GWFC points will be what the guilds use to attempt to earn one of the five open invites to the live GWFC event. Just like the GWWC event, the contestants will battle it out in front of a live audience for more than $ 100,000 in cash and prizes. The competition will be fierce, so get your guild ready, the next chapter in the world championship begins next month!
