Guitar Hero II release date for UK

First, the good news: The eagerly-awaited Xbox 360 title Guitar Hero II will have a Good Friday-release in UK. The bad news? The eagerly-awaited Xbox 360 title Guitar Hero II will have a Good Friday-release in UK.

Nope, that’s no typo. Eurogamer said that the Activision-backed game will be released on the 6th of April. They made this statement  this after asking senior retail store owners in UK who in turn answered “UK gamers won’t have to wait very long at all, it’s due out on 6th April.” Wondering where the “bad news” gimmick came from? Well it’s Good Friday silly, and most retail stores will probably be closed that day. Besides, who wants to rock on and twang some tunes when it’s supposedly a day for mourning? (Ok, ok, me too…)

We’ll still tab this one under rumor though, because when Eurogamer tried to contact Activision, they didn’t seem to confirm nor deny anything. We really can’t blame anyone for getting overly excited about Guitar Hero II. Considering its success on the PS2 and the rich resources (think downloadables) with Microsoft‘s Xbox Live, the possibilities are virtually endless.
