That’s a huge number, huh?But not entirely surprising. The Guitar Hero franchise have sold beyond US$ 1Billion as well, across all titles, since the first launch in 2005. Even the digital counterparts are faring well, to say the least. Downloadable content for GH games are now at a whopping 21 milllion units, with 141, 000 user-generated songs posted through Guitar Hero: World Tour (360, PS3, Wii).
Says Griffin, “Gaming is changing the world of storytelling, the world of music and the world of entertainment in ways we never could have imagined a few years ago, and certainly not in 1972.”
