GH III to have online feature - Image 1We don’t know about you but for us, the beauty of the Guitar Hero series is the ability to rock on with a friend side by side. With that in mind, we’ve fancied time and time again how this rhythm-themed video game would fare online. Well, with Guitar Hero III (Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii), we’re all about to find out.

Gaming site Pro-G recently spoke with RedOctane Co-founder and President Kai Huang. During the interview, the official confirmed that GH III will indeed feature an online component. The full interview is yet to be published so we can’t ascertain if this involves all versions of the video game. Regardless, this is good news.

A few things, however, immediately came to mind the moment we learned about this. We have to admit that online play is not flawless, there’s the occasional lagging. So, we were wondering how RedOctane can assure that this is not going to happen. We’re talking about a song here – just a second of lag would totally distort its rhythm.

And if Wii users get this online capability, will there be a specific friend code for Guitar Hero? There are a lot of possibilities and questions now and we will update you as soon as we get word.
