You’ve probably heard of Frets on Fire or Guitarfun. They’re open-source Guitar Hero clones for the PC where you use the keyboard as your “guitar” peripheral. Hermes, author of Guitarfun for the PC, decided to do something awesome and translated the game on to the Wii.
The best thing about the translation to the Nintendo platform is that you can use a variety of peripherals as your guitar, including a USB keyboard, your Wiimote, or even the guitar peripheral from Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock.
To play Guitarfun, you’ll need Frets on Fire song packs which are easily downloaded from other sources. You can follow this link for a headstart. For a detailed explanation on how the Wiibrew game plays, please read the documentation included in the download file below, which includes installation instructions as well as controls.
