Gumboy Crazy Adventures hailed as Indie Game of the Year

Game Tunnel‘s annually-held Game of the Year awards gives honor to independent video games deemed worthy of recognition for innovation, ingenuity, and excellence. And during the recently held awards (Game Tunnel’s fifth one), the award with the highest honor went to Meridian4‘s Gumboy Crazy Adventures, which snagged the Independent Game of the Year award.

This year’s awards kicked off last December 9th, where Game Tunnel gave out the Sports Game of the Year award (which went to Motorama, by the way) and then continued on for three weeks. It covered 17 award categories. The whole event was topped off by the announcement of the Top 10 Independent Games of the Year, with Gumboy snagging the top rank.

Russell Carroll, Editor-In-Chief at Game Tunnel says: “Independent Games are known for pushing the boundaries of gaming, providing an experience that is singular and different. We are excited every year…to award winners in multiple categories to celebrate their achievements.”
