Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure drills two new ones

Like we said in her artwork article: Parin, running around with big drills is very dangerous to one’s health. Especially if you’re in her sights. These are two gameplay videos from Nihon Falcom/Mastiff LLC‘s Gurumin: A Monster’s Adventure for the PSP a game that GameTrailers likes to call, and we quote, “the ultimate ‘drill action role-playing game'”.

Okay, GameTrailers is officially creeping us out.

The more accurate description of the gameplay would be “hybrid platformer/RPG, plus drill action” in a fashion that Kingdom Hearts players would be familiar with (although the drill attack gameplay reminds us a bit of Sonic on the next-gens air-dashing into everything hostile in sight). In the other gameplay vid, labelled “armor breaking”, Parin can also use her drill to bust and expose the soft underbellies of hostile Phantoms.

Mastiff is set to deliver Gurumin to North American PSPs in February 2007. The cutesy angle should appeal to kiddie gamers and kiddie-gamers at heart (male and female alike, this writer doesn’t think that this kind of gameplay is limited to just one gender), but it could also appeal to RPG fans, too.

More of Parin’s drill after the jump. “Parin’s drill,” grr, that’s still creepy.
