Happy gaming news: Wii Sports tourney hits Illinois
In the wake of gaming news that tends to be rather negative, it’s nice to see some folks actually enjoying their gaming systems for a change. A virtual tennis tournament was recently held in Illinois, showcasing the talents of both tennis novices and more experienced players who ended up having equal time enjoying themselves while racking up the points on the Nintendo Wii.
The winners of the Wii Tennis tournament? Kevin Karczynski, 12, and his brother Nick, 8, who got themselves gift certificates from the local tennis club. In true gamer fashion, they also said they’d be ready and willing to defend their title should another tourney be held.
It’s stories like these that make up for all the negative press video games have been getting in recent years. Best of all, there’s no way that a family-friendly game of tennis could ever be assailed as being violent by litigious defenders of right and wrong such as Jack Thompson.d
