Psyclone Essentials Wii Recharge Station - Image 1The Psyclone Essentials Wii Recharge Station, which is supposed to make life easier for Nintendo Wii users by recharging their Wii Remotes for 20 hours of play time in four hours, actually breaks the motion sensing capable controllers according to the item’s reviews on Amazon.

Psyclone Essentials’ official website does state that “rechargeable batteries left unattended in the recharge unit for an extended period of time may cause the batteries and/or unit to overheat,” but complaints still pile up. Some say the Recharge Station simply fails to charge up the Wiimotes, while others report their waggle controllers got burned.

The product received two positive reviews out of 25, and the happy consumers say Psyclone Essentials’ recharger works as advertised. Most who purchased it, however, had their Wiimotes break down on them and even normal AA batteries weren’t able to get the controllers to work.

Psyclone Essentials warns that “if you feel that your batteries are heating up, please do not use those batteries any more.” Unfortunately, the damage has been done, and Christmas for many has been spoiled because of fried Wii Remotes.
