The forthcoming fourth installment in the fantasy franchise beings as Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) is mysteriously selected to compete in the Triwizard Tournament, a thrilling international competition that pits him against older and more experienced students from Hogwarts and two rival European wizarding schools. Meanwhile, supporters of Harry’s nemesis, the evil Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes), send a shockwave of fear throughout the wizard community when their Dark Mark scorches the sky at the Quidditch World Cup, signaling Voldemort’s return to power. But for Harry, this is not the only harrowing news causing him anxiety – he still has yet to find a date for Hogwarts’ Yule Ball dance.
Director Mike Newell (Pushing Tin, Mona Lisa Smile, Four Weddings and a Funeral) is helming the film from a script adapted by Potter vet Steve Kloves. New additions to the cast include Ralph Fiennes (The English Patient, Schlinder’s List) as Voldemort, Miranda Richardson (Sleepy Hollow, The Hours) as snooping reporter Rita Skeeter, Robert Pattinson (The Ring) as Cedric Diggory, Clemence Poesy (Bienvenue chez les Rozes, Petite Soeur) as the lovely Fleur Delacour, Stanislav Ianevski appears as Viktor Krum, and Katie Leung as Cho Chang.
