Have blog, Wiil travel: WordPress Wii Edition Plugin
If you have a WordPress-based blog or website, you might find this intriguing. The Winksite team has made a plug-in that’ll make your site easier to view in one additional format: Opera browsers on Nintendo Wii units.
Called the WordPress Wii Edition Plugin, it will detect Wiis visiting your website and optimize it just for Wii users running the Opera software. Detection of Wii users is automatic, so it’s a simple matter of installing the plugin and enabling it.
To get it up and running for you, just download the plugin from the source and follow the directions below:
- Drop the wp-wii.php file in your wp-content/plugins directory.
- Drop the wp-wii directory in your wp-content/themes directory.
- Click the “Activate” link for WordPress Wii Edition on your Plugins page (in the WordPress admin interface).
David Harper and the rest of the Winksite crew are thinking of new features to add onto the plugin as we speak, including support for pages and a directory of blogs optimized for Wii-viewing. Now, if only we ran on WordPress…
