HDMI Not An Issue

Despite rumors that Sony does not have HDMI display connectivity working properly after photos were leaked showing the use of only the A/V Multi Output, QJ has come across photos that have surfaced showing that Sony did in fact demonstrate games utilizing HDMI out during the recent Game Developers Conference. Sean Pelletier of HotHardware.com announced that he physically saw the HDMI output in use.

“IÂ’ve just posted a series of images taken on the showroom floor at GDC which clearly illustrates the fact that Sony did use HDMI connectivity for some SDKÂ’s in the demo area. In addition, I also saw the standard Sony Multi A/V connector in use as well as an older SDK using S-Video from a standard NVIDIA graphics card.”

This is promising news for those of us waiting for the PS3 launch now that we know that Sony is on top of things we can put our minds at ease knowing that HDMI will not result in further delays in the PS3 launch date. It is now time to start drooling over 1080p displays while we wait for the PS3 to hit store shelves.
