With an audio allocation that eats up 10 GB, its safe to say that Heavenly Sword is not quite possible for DVD, and that’s what Heavenly Sword‘s chief development ninja, Nina Kristensen said about the enormous filesize capacity needed for Ninja Theory‘s groundbreaking title. “We have jam-packed the Blu-Ray disc absolutely full,” she confirmed, and that’s with everything compressed already.

She also revealed that they also left out some content due to storage issues. “We had to be really judicious at the end with what was going on the disc and what wasn’t.”

Pushing the Blu-ray disc to its limits is just one indication of how much Ninja Theory is giving their all to their debut title. According to her, Heavenly Sword‘s success is important for the gaming studio, who dared to put out something quite ambitious. And with four years of hardwork devoted to one game, failing is going to be more than a disappointment. “Frankly I’d be devastated if it wasn’t a success after four years of development.”

So if Heavenly Sword does do well, will there be a sequel in the works? Nothing’s set in stone, according to the chief development ninja, but they want to continue the Heavenly Sword franchise.
