Heavenly Sword to get DLC if sales are good

Heavenly Sword - Image 1Heavenly Sword is a beautiful game, though everyone seems to think that it’s a bit on the short side. Needless to say, Tameem Antoniades of Ninja Theory had to respond to that clamor for more content with a lure: that is, Heavenly Sword will get more content depending on the game’s sales.

The remark came about during a presentation/ Q&A at a recent Warhawk tourney Warhawk tournament at 3Rooms. According to PS3 Fanboy, Antoniades responded to the criticism about the game’s length by saying that the game would get downloadable content if it sold well enough to demand it.

We remember the days when gamers got a full game and a ton of neat extras right out of the box. Of course, that was only a few years ago, before the advent of downloadable content, so there’s a certain paradox of sorts that needs to be addressed here.

If gamers read reviews nowadays, then they know that the game is a bit short on content, but worth a purchase. At the same time, this new information makes us think that the game devs are making the need for added content conditional rather than mandatory. This begs the question: Is the current content of the game enough to make it worth a purchase, or will it be the promise of future DLC that brings you to pick up the game?
