Rumors of this scene first came out in the Italian PS blog, UPSBlogit, sometime in late August. No one from Quantic Dream really bothered to clarify or address it – blatantly or otherwise – until de Fondaumiere, that is. In a video interview, he said,

We wanted to have pretty much the same game everywhere, be it in Europe, in the United States, or in Japan, of course, with slight adaptations, for instance, the Japanese version. But I don’t think the changes we made will make a big difference, so that those are real modular things. We felt the need to adapt the content to the culture.
