Hide in bales of hay: new video of Assassin’s Creed in action
Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft Montreal’s upcoming title that puts us in the shoes of a white-robed, roof-hopping assassin for the PC, Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3, is right around the corner. To give us a clearer picture on how much of a free-roaming, open-ended adventure it’s going to be is this new video of the game in action. Not since the likes of Tenchu did the idea of being completely invisible in a populated environment be all the more important to survival.

In this gameplay video of Assassin’s Creed, we see some of the many ways we can infiltrate heavily-guarded sections of the city – and it really takes the concept of stealth into a whole new level (that being the level of actually making sense). For example, players can walk with a group of similarly-garbed scholars in a slow formation so as to appear like you’re one of them, effectively disguising yourself and throwing off suspicion.
Then there’s also the bench tactic, which consists of you breaking off from a chase and sitting down on a bench – as if you didn’t just shank a guard five minutes earlier. While it’s not as flashy as, say, hiding underneath a cardboard box, it does make things a bit easier to swallow.
