Focusing on the PlayStation 3’s power and how they carefully crafted this installment of Devil May Cry to suit the next-gen console’s needs, Itsuno discussed what were the necessary technical adjustments they had to make for the visuals, controls, and gameplay.

As for the storyline, he reveals his personal opinion as to which of the games around could Capcom‘s Devil May Cry 4 be compared to. His answer: the Ghosts and Goblins series. According to him, it’s the closest you can get to DMC 4 because of the similarities in the difficulty level, as well as in the responsive controls that require various twitch timings.

He also talks about the marketing strategy that he and his team implemented for DMC 4. Unlike the previous installment, Devil May Cry 3, they opted this time around to not tweak with any particular gameplay so that it may specifically cater to Western gamers for sales purposes. Simply put, “we need to focus on making things that we think are fun. And if we think it’s fun, that’s the best we can do…”
