I’ve heard of people whose sole purpose in life is to find a game hard enough to make their hands bleed. If you like a challenge, then you’ll probably appreciate director Hideki Kamiya’s efforts to be completely upfront with what gamers can expect from Bayonetta (aside from the magic hair and the gun boots).

For instance, with Bayonetta, we would hate for someone to think it is a heartwarming tale and then buy the game to discover it is really a sadistically hard game (I hopeÂ…) where you play as a witch who laughs as she destroys angelic enemies.
Now, question time: Does knowing that the devs are planning for Bayonetta to be sadistically hard make you, the gamer, hard want to buy it even more or did it just kill off any chance that you’re gonna buy this game?
